Bible Verse for April 28th.

I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.

God desires our love and wants to be in an ongoing and intimate relationship with us. Sometimes, as believers, we can fill our lives with religious observances and traditions and neglect the most important thing of all......loving God. Our love for Him should be all consuming, flowing from deep within our hearts. This propels us to spend time in His Presence and to praise and worship Him. It's almost as if we cannot get enough of Him.

We may sacrificially give of our time and finances to the work of God and feel that this is good enough, but God covets our love most of all. He wants us to speak to Him, to listen to what He has to say and not let the distractions of life take us away from time with Him. Loving God is what matters the most.

Thank you Lord for Your love. I pray that I will never neglect spending time in Your Presence or allow myself to be consumed with mere traditions and rituals. Lord, I am nothing without you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
