Bible Verse for April 17th.

And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

Matthew 6:12
NLT Bible

Millions of people pray this verse taken from the Lord's Prayer everyday, sometimes without paying attention to its profound meaning and the impact it has on our lives. We are to readily forgive others just as God forgives us. There are so many people who simply refuse to forgive someone who has wronged them, yet expect Jesus to forgive them when they sin. Forgiveness is the key to living a happy, healthy and productive life.

When we fail to forgive others who have wronged us, we lock ourselves up in a self imposed prison of bitterness, misery and unhappiness. This affects us physically, emotionally and spiritually. All around us, many people live with regret because they stubbornly refused to forgive someone who wronged them and then, suddenly, it was too late. God has called us to forgive and it's the only way to move forward, to heal and grow. Our perfect example is Almighty God, who in His infinite mercy and grace continues to forgive us when we sin.

Thank you Lord for Your forgiveness. Help me to forgive those who have wronged me in the same way You continue to forgive me. Let me never harbour unforgiveness in my heart. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
