When we love someone, we usually try to do everything to please them. We spend quality time getting to know them.......their likes, dislikes, interests and peculiarities and then we do everything we can to satisfy and make them happy. This desire to please can extend to friends, colleagues and employers, where we also make every effort to please, yet, as believers, we are negligent when it comes to doing things that would glorify God, the One we profess to love the most.

To truly please God is to live in obedience to Him and to make our relationship with Him our highest priority. We must spend time in His Presence and in His Word, allowing it to saturate our minds. Every thought, word and action should honour and glorify Him. Pleasing God means we pay attention to the way we speak, we censor the things we listen to and watch, and we are selective about the places we frequent. Our desire to honour and glorify God must be at the centre of every thought, word and action.

Thank you Lord for calling me Your child. My heart's desire is to please you in everything I say and do and I pray that my thoughts, speech and actions will always bring honour and glory to you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
