He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
2 Corinthians 1:4
NLT Bible
Many times we see people who are suffering immensely, yet they are always able to minister to someone else in pain. This is what we are called to do as followers of God. He comforts us during our times of distress and expects us to do the same to those who are in pain. When we are troubled, God comforts us through His Word, the Holy Spirit and the ministry of compassionate and caring people. In return, we need to do the same when people around us are suffering.
Our sad and tragic experiences should cause us to empathize with others as we can relate to their feelings of loneliness and despair. All that is needed is a kind word, a hug, a shoulder to lean on and the reassurance that we are praying for them and that things will get better because God is in control. God has entrusted us with this and we should consider it a privilege to be able to comfort another person in their time of trouble.
Thank you Lord for Your comfort. In my times of trouble, You have been my Help and my Anchor. I pray that I will be sensitive and compassionate when others are suffering and comfort them as You have comforted me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
