Bible Verse for February 26th.

But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from The Lord.

Jonah 1:3
NLT Bible

Many people try to get away from God. Deep within their hearts, they know they should be serving God, but for reasons of their own, they go in the opposite direction, doing things that are contrary to the Word of God. No one can get away from God. It's a futile attempt that may satisfy for awhile, but it leads nowhere. Jonah was commissioned by God to go to Nineveh to bring a message of repentance. He didn't want to go and set off in a ship sailing in the opposite direction. God was not leaving him alone and He created a storm. Jonah was thrown overboard, swallowed by a big fish and ultimately repented during his three day stay inside the belly of the fish.

There are people today who once loved and served God, but are now running away from Him and living as they please. God does not give up on us and He may allow us to be in tough situations that open our eyes and turn our focus back to Him. Sadly, when we run away from God, we impact others by our actions. Each one of us has a God given purpose and mission and fulfilling it is the greatest thing we can do. God will not leave us alone. He is a God of second chances and the time is now to change direction and get back to God.

Thank you Lord for never giving up on me. I want to follow you all the days of my life, to do what you want me to do. With Your help, I purpose to be obedient to you alone. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
