Then He told them, "Pray that you will not give in to temptation."
Luke 22:40
NLT Bible
Temptation lurks all around us, in every corner of our lives. Jesus knew this and He cautioned us to pray and be on guard so that we would not succumb to temptation. The devil is busy and is honing in on our weaknesses, making the things that tempt us appear appealing and attractive. As followers of God, we are his primary targets and we need to do everything we possibly can to refrain from giving in. When we 'cave in' to temptation, we run the risk of destroying our lives and sometimes the lives of those close to us.
We don't have to live this way. Each one of us knows our areas of weaknesses and the difficulties we encounter. However, we are never alone, left to our own devices to overcome our temptations. God is always with us and He has given us the solution and it's simple and straightforward. We need to watch and pray unceasingly. In addition, we may have to remove or stay away from anyone or anything that can lure us into wrongdoing. If we try to do it in our own strength, we will fail, but with God's help, we can be victorious and live purpose filled lives, all for His glory.
Thank you Lord for Your strength. Help me to be vigilant and alert to the things that may derail me from living a godly life. I surrender my weaknesses to you and pray that I will always be an overcomer. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
