He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

Laughter is good medicine for our souls. It makes us feel alive and happy. However, for many, it's somewhat difficult to laugh and be joyful when things are amiss in our lives. Job faced unimaginable suffering, but in this verse he is reminded that God would once again fill him with laughter and joy. We can also appropriate this promise and try to be joyful in the midst of trying circumstances. So many of us walk around sad, dejected and downcast when faced with trials. As difficult as it may be, we can smile and be at peace because of God's promise to us.

We must realize that trials will end and that God is always with us, even in our darkest hour. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Knowing this gives us peace of mind and should impact our demeanour during tough times. God has given us the gift of laughter and in our daily lives, we need to be happy and filled with joy. When we do this, we forget our problems, we keep things in perspective and hope fills our hearts, because we know that better and brighter joy filled days are ahead.

Thank you Lord for the ability to laugh. Let laughter be a part of my life regardless of what I'm going through. I know I can be happy, joyful and filled with peace in any circumstance because You are with me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
