Bible Verse for October 27th.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.

1 Corinthians 13:11
NLT Bible

We expect children to behave a certain way, thinking, speaking and reasoning in a manner befitting their age. However, there comes a time when this must end. We put away childish behaviour and begin to act as mature and responsible adults. We can hold on to childlike qualities of faith, trust and dependency, but childish actions must cease. This means we have to think and act independently, make wise decisions and live in a manner that pleases God.

As children, we were cared for and our needs were met. Sometimes we behaved in an undisciplined and rude manner, possibly, we spoke without thinking, ate whatever we wanted, behaved irresponsibly and spent a lot of time on trivial activities. However, as adults, everything changes and we can no longer engage in childish behaviour. We are now expected to be givers and not takers, to have self control, to be patient and disciplined, to serve others, to refrain from idle behaviour and to deepen our relationship with God. If childish behaviour is still evident in us, we need to rededicate our lives to God and purpose to serve Him as mature and disciplined believers.

Thank you Lord for life. Help me to put away traces of childish behaviour that's evident in my life and to serve you with love, discipline and diligence. I desire to be someone who cares, loves and gives to others. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
