Bible Verse for October 12th.

So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.

Many of us know people who once had a deep love and passion for God, serving Him enthusiastically, but we watched as they slowly drifted away from all they held dear. Drifting away from God is slow and gradual. It usually begins with skipping fellowship with God, neglecting to spend time in His Word and spending time with people who have the ability to lure us into wrongdoing. If we persist in going down this path, sooner or later, we become desensitized and our passion for God is lost and our relationship with Him seems almost non-existent.

As followers of Jesus, we must do everything to keep our 'fires burning' for Him. We need to remain steadfast and firm, have daily fellowship with Him, saturate ourselves with His Word and be receptive to godly counsel. God must be the focal point of our lives and we need to keep on listening to His voice and obeying His precepts. Failure to do this results in complacency and a total drifting away from the things of God. If we want to remain true and faithful to Him, we must guard our hearts and minds and always stay close to Him. It's the only way to avoid compromising our beliefs and being disconnected from Him. Our eternity with our Heavenly Father hinges on it.

Thank you Lord for saving me and making me whole. My desire is to serve you all the days of my life. Give me the strength to never compromise my belief, to stay on the straight path and not drift away from all that is good and noble and pure. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
