Bible Verse for June 15th.

"I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other."

Revelation 3:15
NLT Bible

There are many believers who can be categorized as lukewarm, being neither hot nor cold and lacking commitment and passion for God. For some it may have been a gradual decline into a state of complacency and comfort in their relationship with God. The fervour and passion they once had for Him is now missing and intimacy with Him is nonexistent. For others, being lukewarm is simply the norm, just going through the motions, doing all the seemingly 'right' things but lacking dedication and devotion to God. This verse tells us that God is not pleased with lukewarm believers. In fact, He wishes that we be one or the other, hot or cold.

Being lukewarm sends us into a downward spiral. Our moral compass is affected and there's no desire to fervently serve God and apathy is evident in our daily lives. When this happens, it becomes easy to pick up old and undesirable habits and be lured back to our former way of living. The antidote for being lukewarm is fellowship with Jesus....knowing Him, yearning and hungering for Him. It's making it a priority to spend time in prayer and the Word, to literally make Jesus the centre of our lives. As children of God, we cannot be lukewarm. We must be on 'fire' for God, putting Him first in our lives, being enthusiastic and zealous and living holy and righteous lives. When we do this, God is pleased.

Thank you Lord for loving me. My desire is to serve you with fervour and enthusiasm. Lord, help me to never become complacent and indifferent. I pray that my love for You will grow deeper and deeper each day. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
