Bible Verse for June 13th.

Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:24

As children of God, this verse should be the prayer of our hearts. We should desire to be more and more like God everyday, to be righteous and holy and let our lives reflect Him alone. When people look at us, they should really be seeing the beauty and glory of Jesus emanating from our lives. This can only happen as we surrender to God and allow Him to have total control of our lives. We are all imperfect, oftentimes allowing our fleshly desires to take precedence in our lives. The only way to overcome this is through prayer, consecrating our lives to God and asking Him to make us more and more like Him. He alone is perfect, the embodiment of all that is good, noble, pure, compassionate, kind and loving.

As His children, we should yearn for this to be evident in us. This can only happen as we keep Jesus at the centre of our lives, letting Him lead and direct us and be a part of every thought, word and deed. It is imperative then, that we spend time in His Presence and allow His Word to saturate our minds. Every fleshly desire must diminish and our new nature must take over to allow the beauty of Jesus to be seen in us.

Thank you Lord for Your Presence. Lord, my desire is to become more and more like you with each passing day. Help me to be holy and righteous just as You are. I pray that my life will reflect all that You embody. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
