God has given each one of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
1 Peter 4:10
NLT Bible
This verse encourages us to use the gifts that God has so graciously blessed us with. In His infinite wisdom, He has entrusted us with these gifts and expects that we would use them to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Oftentimes, we see potential and abilities in others remain dormant and wasted, because of fear, laziness or just lack of motivation. Some of us may be good at communicating, so we can use our words to uplift, edify and encourage others. We may have the knack for helping and getting things done, so we can hone these skills to assist others. If we are blessed with good listening skills, then we can visit the elderly and listen to them as they reminisce or call someone who is lonely and hurting and allow them to share. Opportunities abound for us to use our God given gifts. We just have to be open, ready and willing.
We are to be good stewards of the gifts that God has given us and we should not allow anyone to prevent us from using them. We may have a host of reasons for doing nothing, but we are required to serve others and make a difference in the world and we have all been blessed with at least one gift. We must remember that we will be held accountable for what we have done with these gifts God has given us. There is no greater joy than knowing that we have brought glory to God through our service to others.
Thank you Lord for these gifts that You have so freely given to me. Help me to use them to bless others. May I never bury them, but with Your help, use them to make a difference in the lives of others, doing it willingly and cheerfully. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
