"If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities."
Luke 16:10
NLT Bible
Many people are always thinking of doing something big....maybe getting a promotion at work, earning more money or maybe just wanting bigger and better responsibilities to showcase their abilities. This causes them to grow weary of doing what they consider to be little things, finding them boring, tiring and maybe even menial. As a result, they do these 'little' things halfheartedly and in a sloppy manner.
God is watching and He is not pleased when we do things like that. We are to be faithful, dedicated and diligent when we are doing things that may be considered small. Our attention to detail and excellence must be the same, regardless of the job we're doing. It is then that God rewards us with bigger responsibilities, because our inner strength and character comes shining through. He looks at our hearts and our attitude and willingness in doing little things faithfully.
In the same way, if we are unfaithful and dishonest in little things, it follows that we will most certainly be dishonest if we are ever entrusted with greater responsibilities. Faithfulness is such an important attribute. David was just a young man tending his sheep, but he was faithful and diligent and God was watching and the Bible tells how David was elevated. God has great things in store for us, and He wants to reward us with bigger opportunities and greater responsibilities, but He must first find us faithful in the little things.
Thank you Lord for blessing me. Help me to be faithful in everything I do, regardless of how insignificant it may seem. Let me do it faithfully, diligently and with a spirit of excellence and may You be honoured through it all. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
