That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
2 Corinthians 4:16
NLT Bible
We are all subject to the aging process and for many of us, our bodies are not as they used to be. Aches and pain happen and sometimes we fall victim to various illnesses brought about by the simple fact that we are getting older. However, even though our physical bodies may show the symptoms of natural aging and failing health, as children of Almighty God, our spirits are being renewed every day. As we spend time in communion and fellowship with God, through prayer and meditation on His Word, we are spiritually refreshed, restored and renewed.
Many of us may know people who are dealing with health issues or may even be terminally ill, yet through it all, they always radiate the love and joy that comes from knowing and trusting Jesus. They have recognized that while their bodies may fail and betray them, their Heavenly Father lives in their hearts and He alone gives them the everlasting peace and joy they need. The 'inner man' within them is alive, vibrant and filled with hope of an eternity with Jesus. Aging is inevitable and it comes to all of us. What's important however, is that we never allow anything to affect our relationship with God, to never give up and to know that all our sufferings and trials will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
Thank you Lord for the hope that I have in You. As I grow old, may I always be focused on You and not allow anything to hinder our relationship. You are my strength when I am weak. My desire is that my love for You grows stronger with every passing day. You are everything to me and I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
