Bible Verse for April 16th.

The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.

Psalm 145:14

All around us, there are people who are bent low beneath loads of pain and despair, brought on by failure, sickness, grief, addiction, loneliness, fear and so much more. However, as believers, we serve a great and compassionate God who will never leave us in that bent and fallen state, but will lift us up and fill us with the strength and courage needed to set us on the road to recovery. God loves us so much and He will not allow us to be engulfed or swallowed up by our burdens and cares. It is not His will for us to live in a defeated and fallen state. God wants to see us live victorious lives of love and service to Him and our fellow man.

We have to do our part and keep the faith, trusting in God to lift us up. This means that no matter how tough things get, how much we feel like giving up and cowering under it all, we have to look to God, to keep our eyes on Him alone. He is the Only One who can lift us up. Even in our bent and fallen state, we need to be aware of how much God loves us and wants to see us whole, restored, happy and productive. Our hope is in Jesus and because of that, we must never give up.

Thank you Lord for lifting me up. I feel like I'm drowning under this heavy weight, but through it all, I cling to You. Help me Lord to keep my eyes, mind and heart centred on You. I know that You have a plan and purpose for my life. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
