"For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost."
Luke 19:10
NLT Bible
In this verse Jesus is emphasizing the fact that He came to seek and save those who are lost. He had just invited himself to the house of Zacchaeus, a tax collector, who was notorious for cheating. The crowds were perplexed that Jesus would align himself with someone like that, but He wanted to show them that everyone needs to be saved, regardless of their status, race, physical limitations or anything they've done.
This principle still applies. We are commissioned to tell others about Jesus, but we cannot be selective. So many times, as children of God, we are hesitant about sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus, but time is fleeting and if we procrastinate, it may be too late. We have to stretch ourselves, get out of our comfort zone and seek out those who are lost. They are all around us......our neighbours, co-workers, the mailman, the people at the coffee shop, the alcoholic, the drug addict, the homeless and the list goes on. They all need Jesus in their lives and how will they know if we don't tell them? In the days and weeks ahead, we need to challenge ourselves to use every opportunity to share the message of salvation.
Thank you Lord for saving my soul. Help me to be an effective witness for You. Open my eyes, Lord that I may see those who are lost and need You as their Saviour. I love you Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
