So many times we worship God without paying attention to what we are really saying, simply going through the motions, because it's what we've been taught to do. It could be that we are reciting prayers and singing hymns that we've learnt over the years, but our hearts and minds are elsewhere, not focused and connected to what we are doing. For many, this may be good enough because they believe they've worshipped and prayed and given God His due. However, this is not what God desires from us. He is not pleased with mere lip service, vain and ritualistic worship. He wants all of us....our hearts, bodies, souls and minds.
True worship comes from a heart of devotion, love and commitment to Almighty God and expresses our deepest feelings for Him. We must be actively involved in worship. If we truly love God, our senses are awakened as we worship and we feel alive and rejuvenated in His Presence. Our words aren't empty and meaningless, but come from hearts filled with truth, sincerity, praise and thankfulness. As we worship, we internalize what we are saying, our love for God is evident and He receives the praise, honour and glory that is due to Him.
Thank you Lord for loving me just as I am. I worship and praise Your holy Name. You alone are worthy. Lord, may my worship always be pleasing and acceptable to You. I love you Jesus. A men!
