Bible Verse for February 5th.
"The Lord gave me what I had, and The Lord has taken it away. Praise the Name of The
Lord."
Job 1:21
NLT Bible
Not many of us can be like Job. He lost everything he owned, but he still praised God,
recognizing that it all came from Him and He could take it away if He wanted. We have
all seen people who have lost their worldly possessions due to natural disasters, but
remained thankful because they were safe and unharmed. We need to recognize that we
entered this world with absolutely nothing and in the end we leave the same way. Every
material thing we've accumulated will be left behind. What's important is our relationship
with God and the way we've lived.
Our true character comes to the forefront when we lose our possessions. It's at this time
that we need to draw close to God, to rely solely on Him and to trust Him implicitly
knowing that He will take care of us. 1 Timothy 6:6 tells us that godliness and
contentment is itself great wealth. We may not understand when bad things happen to us,
but we can be secure in the knowledge that God is always with us and we are rich in the
things that really matter and we can praise God for that.
Thank you Lord for Your many blessings. Everything I have comes from You and I
recognize that it can be gone in an instant, but I know that all will be well, as long as I
have you in my life. You are everything to me and I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
