Bible Verse for January 19th.

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the
unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.

Most people are somewhat obsessed with their appearance and would go to great lengths
to ensure that they are always looking beautiful, investing a lot of time and money on it.
However, they pay little attention to the inner beauty that really matters and their hearts
may be filled with apathy, bitterness, hatred and anger. There's nothing wrong in looking
beautiful, but it's the beauty that comes from within us that matters to God.....the kind that
comes from someone with a kind, compassionate, patient, loving, gentle and quiet spirit.
We can cultivate that kind of inner beauty by allowing God's love to permeate our hearts
and minds. It also means spending time in prayer, reading the Word and surrounding
ourselves with people who can influence and enrich our lives. There's such peace that
emanates from someone with a beautiful spirit and we need to remember that outward
beauty will fade, but the beauty that's on the inside lasts forever and that is what matters
to Almighty God.
Thank you Lord for Your goodness and Your love for me. Help me not to focus on my
outward appearance, but to fill my heart and mind with all that is good and pure. Let my
life reflect You, Lord Jesus. Amen!
