Bible Verse for January 15th.

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you; to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly before God.

Micah 6:8
NLT Bible

As believers, we sometimes spend years agonizing and crying out to God to find out what He requires from us. This verse spells it out in a simple and straightforward manner and challenges us to do what God desires from us. Firstly, God has given us His Word and it's the ultimate handbook for righteous living. As we read it, we need to ask Him to open our hearts and minds so that we can fully understand what He wants us to know.

God is the source of all that is good and pure and knowing Him intimately is what He requires from us. We are to fear Him, to love and serve Him and to do what is right. God is merciful and because He is, we can be too. When we love God, we love others and treat them kindly and compassionately. Finally God wants us to walk humbly before Him, to treat people fairly and to make a difference in this world. This verse challenges us to live in a pleasing manner to Almighty God. As we submit to Him, He gives us the strength, courage and determination to live as He wants us to.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Help me to do what is right in Your sight, to show mercy and kindness to others. I pray that I will always walk humbly and wisely before You. I love you Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
