The words of the godly encourage many.

Proverbs 10:21 NLT Bible

Many people are in need of encouragement today. They may be lonely, depressed, discouraged, sad, insecure, struggling to get by, facing health and financial problems and much more. As godly men and women, we can do our part by speaking words of hope and encouragement into their lives. Our words have the potential to edify, strengthen, encourage, bless and bring hope, but also the ability to tear down and inflict pain. We should do whatever it takes to bring hope to the lives of those with whom we come in contact.

Unless we are told, we really don't know what someone is going through, but if we are kind, compassionate and discerning we will be able to see beyond the fake smiles to the pain that's on the inside. Proverbs 10:11 tells us that the words of the godly are like a life-giving fountain, literally giving life and hope to those who hear them. People should feel better both physically and emotionally after we speak encouraging words to them. As believers, we want to see others succeed and be happy and our words should come from hearts filled with love, compassion and empathy. We need to make a habit of using our words to bring hope and encouragement to the people around us. Sometimes all it takes is an encouraging word to get someone back on track to the place where God wants them to be.

Thank you Lord for compassion and discernment. Help me to use my words to encourage and brighten the lives of those who are experiencing pain and trials. Let the things I say bring hope, comfort, strength and edification. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

The Lord sets prisoners free.

9. The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10. The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord.

People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.

Proverbs 10:17 NLT Bible

We don't know everything and all of us are in need of correction and discipline at some point in our lives. Therefore, we must be willing and open to receiving it from wise and godly people, as this is crucial to fulfilling our purpose and achieving our full potential in life. Being disciplined is never easy. In fact, it can be quite painful, but refusing to receive and heed it causes us to go astray and sets us on the road to failure.

Having a willing and teachable spirit is indicative of someone who truly wants to live for God, to please and serve Him and stay on the path of righteousness and holiness. So many times, we've seen people ignore correction and then wind up 'making a mess' of their lives. In fact, we should be so appreciative of the ones who care enough about us to chastise us. Correction, when followed, causes us to grow, to change, to excel and become better men and women of God.

Thank you Lord for Your discipline. Help me to be open and willing to correction from those who care about my well being. Let me listen, receive and heed their wise and godly advice and use it to become all that You want me to be. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

1 John 1:1-10 NKJV

1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life.

2. The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us.

3. That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

4. And these things we write to you that [a]your joy may be full.

5. This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

6. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

7. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God's people.

Philemon 1:7 NLT Bible

Oftentimes, we fail to realize the impact our kind words and actions can have on someone, and opportunities are all around us to be kind and to show God's love in meaningful and tangible ways. We can make a difference in the lives of others and all it requires is being kind, caring and sensitive to the needs around us. Wherever we are, whether it's at home, at work or at the shopping malls, we need to look for ways to be kind to the people we meet.

It's easy to be kind and it goes a long way in making people feel loved, valued and appreciated. A compliment, a few words of encouragement or praise, being generous with our time and finances, the ability to empathize and sometimes, just being available to listen are simple, yet effective ways to show our love and kindness. When we truly love God, kindness becomes a way of life for us.

Thank you Lord for Your love and kindness. Help me to be a blessing and be kind and caring to those around me. Let Your love radiate through me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Ephesians 6: 10-20 NKJV

10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.

15. And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

16. Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—19. And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.

20. For which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
