Hebrews 12:1-6 NLT

1. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

2. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

3. Think of all the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

4. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.

5. And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as His children? He said,

“My child, don’t make light of the LORD’s discipline,

and don’t give up when He corrects you.

6. For the LORD disciplines those He loves,

and He punishes each one He accepts as his child.”

They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

Lord Jesus, Your grace is sufficient for me. Your Word is hidden in my heart, directing me through paths of righteousness. May I strive for excellence through Your indwelling presence. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

So, I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NLT

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as my Lord and Saviour. May I be steadfast and true to You., disciplining myself to always do the right thing, making sure that You are exalted above all else. Keep me faithful. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!

Isaiah 26:3 NLT Bible

There are so many things that rob us of our peace. We spend many hours agonizing over our finances, our children's safety, our health, our relationships and a host of other things. We then wind up feeling stressed, worried and devoid of peace. However, real peace is not the absence of valid concerns in our lives, but the ability to have it in the midst of worrisome events.

God's Word tells us that we can be assured of peace if we trust in Him and centre our thoughts on Him. This means that regardless of what life throws at us, peace will reign in our hearts, but it can only happen when our minds are fixed on God. When turmoil resonates within us, we need to spend time in prayer and in His Word. As we do, His peace floods our souls.

Thank you, Lord, for Your peace. I feel overwhelmed by what is happening in my life, but I trust in You and focus my thoughts on You alone. Fill me with Your peace. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

1 John 4:7-12 NIV

7. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

8. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

9. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.

10. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

11. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.

Be kind to each other.

Ephesians 4:32 NLT Bible

We cannot profess to be followers of God and be unkind to others. Every day we should be looking for ways to be kind to those around us. We don't have to search for ways to be kind because opportunities to do so abound. However, many people are self absorbed and totally oblivious to the needs and concerns of others.

Being kind should be a way of life for us. We can help an elderly neighbour, give our seat to someone on the bus, allow another person to go ahead of us at the checkout, pay for someone's coffee, have a kind word for someone who's hurting, and the list goes on and on. We must be intentional in our choice to be kind and with God's help we can.

Thank you, Lord, for Your kindness. Help me to be kind to everyone I come in contact with. Let me be the epitome of kindness and look for ways to show it. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Philippians 2:5-11 NKJV

5. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

6. Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God.

7. But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

8. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

9. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name.

10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
