Worry is an exercise in futility. It drains us of our strength and vitality, yet so many times, as children of God, we allow ourselves to be consumed by it. We spend valuable time worrying about all the problems we're facing and envisioning all the possible outcomes. While we may have valid concerns, we don't have to allow them to consume our lives. Jesus is telling us to quit worrying about the future and commit all our cares to Him.

We should never let worrying about tomorrow rob us of enjoying today. We need to live in the present, believing that God's strength is sufficient for every circumstance we may face tomorrow. We should strive to live each day to the fullest and make each moment count. 

Thank you, Lord, for caring for me. Help me to not be consumed by worry. My trust is in you; Lord and I give all my cares and concerns to you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither and they prosper in all they do.

Psalm 1:3 NLT Bible

Trees planted along the riverbank draw all the nutrients needed for growth from the rich and moist soil around them and as a result, stand strong and firm. Their leaves never wither and they always bear fruit. This is the illustration used to depict us as followers of God when we love, honour, obey and serve Him. We stand strong and firm and we're able to withstand the inevitable storms of life.

God has promised that when we honour Him, we will prosper in all we do. Often, this is associated with material wealth only and while there's nothing wrong with that, God is alluding to prosperity in every area of our lives. He wants us to have joy, peace, happiness, health, wisdom, strength and all things eternal. To remain strong and rooted in God, we must make fellowship with Him our utmost priority. When we do, we prosper and remain firm and faithful.

Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to prosper in all I do. My desire is to live according to Your truths and to love and obey you. Help me to remain true and faithful. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
