Honour your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

Exodus 20:12 NLT Bible

This verse speaks about honouring our parents, but today I’d like to focus on what it means to honour and revere our mothers. On this day, millions of people who are privileged to have their mothers be part of their lives are celebrating them with cards, flowers and gifts. These are all worthy gestures; however, how can we really honour our mothers with the things that matter the most? We have to love her unconditionally, respect her, listen to her, let her know how special she is, care deeply for her, spend ‘quality’ time with her and above all pray for her.

As this verse tells us, when we honour and respect our mothers, we will have long and satisfying lives. Life can be very difficult for mothers as they juggle the demands of everyone and everything around them. In fact, it can be quite overwhelming at times. Mothers aren’t perfect. They make mistakes, but God’s command is still for us to honour them and we can do so both in tangible and intangible ways. Many of us have mothers who are no longer with us, but today we can honour their memory and the love and invaluable lessons they shared with us. On this special day and always, we must endeavour to honour our mothers.

Thank you Lord for mothers everywhere. Let me always love and respect her and make her feel valued and appreciated. Bless her Lord, keep her strong and healthy, watch over her and keep her safe. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Proverbs 31:25-31

25. She is clothed with strength and dignity. She can laugh at the days to come.

26. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28. Her children arise and call her blessed. Her husband also, and he praises her:

29. “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

30. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting. But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

31. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

May God give you more and more mercy, peace and love.

Jude 1:2 NLT Bible

As believers, we need to be filled with mercy, peace and love. Each day our prayer should be for God to give us more of these attributes. He is the perfect example and true embodiment of mercy, peace and love and all we need to do is ask. We are forgiven because of God's mercy for us and we, in turn, need to be overflowing with mercy for others. This causes us to be compassionate, forgiving and able to look beyond the faults and flaws of those around us.

We should covet God's peace that keeps us calm in the midst of raging storms and the chaos and uncertainty around us. This peace assures us that come what may, we are safe and secure in Jesus. Finally, we need our cup to be brimming over with love. God's love enables us to love others even when it's difficult, to minister and be kind and caring. We should begin each day by looking up to God and asking Him to fill us with His mercy, peace and love.

Thank you Lord for loving me. Fill me with more and more of Your mercy, peace and love. Let my life reflect you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

“Look at the birds; They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to Him than they are?"

Matthew 6:26 NLT Bible

There's no denying it. Worrying is a way of life for many. A lot of time and energy is spent worrying about situations and circumstances that seem hopeless and perplexing.......our finances, jobs, children, the economy, our health and much more. We need to recognize that worry is simply an exercise in futility and accomplishes nothing. It affects our health, happiness, our mood and our ability to function and live purpose filled lives. We can be concerned about the needs in our lives, but when it begins to consume us, it becomes worry.

We need to fully grasp that we have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for us. We are more valuable and precious to Him than the birds of the air and if He takes care of them, then as His beloved children, how much more would He provide for our every need. When we worry, what we are doing is saying that we don't trust God to solve our problems and supply our needs. If we truly love God, we will entrust every care, need and concern to Him. Worry is not a testament to our faith, and the only solution is to surrender everything to God and to keep on trusting, obeying, seeking and serving Him.

Thank you Lord for caring for me and meeting every need. I surrender every need, circumstance and situation to you and I refuse to worry about it, because my trust is in You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Deuteronomy 28:9-14 NKJV

9. “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.

10. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.

11. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.

12. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

13. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

14. So, you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
