A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.

Proverbs 11:13 NLT Bible

An endearing and admirable quality in someone is the ability to be trustworthy. This is the person we gravitate towards if we need to share something, because we know that our trust will never be violated. On the other hand, the last person we would confide any personal detail about our lives would be that one who would immediately repeat what was said to another. A gossip divulges secrets with no thought as to how it would affect the other person.

We need to be trustworthy, honest and reliable men and women of God. People should be able to confide in us, knowing that anything they've disclosed remains private and confidential. If we've been guilty of gossiping, we need to confess it to God and with His help, cease from doing it. We would all benefit from thinking before we speak and censoring everything, we say. 

Thank you Lord for the gift of speech. Help me to refrain from gossiping and be a trustworthy person, someone who can keep a confidence. Let my words bring healing and not harm. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
