There are many people battling bad habits and struggles and a close look may reveal that these problems have been in the family for generations. It could be alcoholism, abuse of all kinds, laziness, infidelity, anger, fear, depression, mental illness, bitterness, greed, a complaining spirit or other undesirable traits. The solution lies with us, and the time is now to put an end to this vicious cycle and ensure that this is not perpetuated in future generations.

 

God wants us to walk in freedom and liberty and as believers, we have His power within us to end these destructive behaviours. We need to confess these habits to God, repent and in His Name declare freedom and victory over them. It sounds simple, but requires determination and perseverance as we pray, meditate on the Word, fast and then continually speak His promises of deliverance over our family. There's power in the awesome name of Jesus and all strongholds and yokes can be broken because of Him, the One who died for our sins.

Thank you, Lord, for dying for my sins. Today, in Your Name, I declare that all yokes and bad habits in my life and in the lives of my family are broken. With Your help and strength, we're delivered and set free from them, and I declare that my family will live in victory because of you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
