Moses' arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So, Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So, his hands held steady until sunset.

Exodus 17:12 NLT Bible

The Israelites and Amalekites were engaged in battle and to ensure victory and show support for the Israelites, Moses stood on the hill with his arms raised, holding his staff. However, he grew tired and weary, and his hands fell. As this verse tells us Aaron and Hur held up his arms for as long as they needed to and Israel was victorious. Just like Moses, we all go through times when we need to be upheld by someone else.

We've grown tired, overwhelmed and need someone to lend a helping hand, to encourage, support, pray, uplift, be a shoulder to lean on or be available to walk alongside us as we face our battle. We also need to do the same for others. We must support our leaders, ministers, loved ones, friends and anyone else who may be slumping under a heavy load. With God on our side and the help of caring individuals, we will overcome.

Thank you, Lord, for always being there for me. Help me to walk beside someone who is weak and weary, to uplift and pray for them and above all, to show my compassion in tangible ways. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Lydia
