The Lord is my Shepherd; I have all
that I need.
Psalm 23:1
NLT Bible
This verse is from one of the most
beloved and precious Psalms and is a favourite with people of all generations.
Many have memorized it, and we've heard it recited over and over again. It's a
Psalm that brings comfort, peace and assurance to so many of us during times of
trials, grief and challenges. This verse encapsulates the entire Psalm by
referring to God as our Shepherd.
A shepherd is entrusted with the task
of guiding, feeding, caring, protecting, providing, rescuing, restoring and
comforting. Sheep cannot make it on their own and need a shepherd to survive.
Many people today believe that they are self reliant and able to deal with all
situations on their own. Sadly, they are mistaken. We need God to be our
Shepherd. With Him in our lives, we have everything we need.
Thank you, Lord, for being my
Shepherd. I belong to you and have all that I need. I look to you to meet every
need in my life. You lead, guide, care, comfort, restore and provide for me. I
love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
