And we are instructed to turn away from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God.

Titus 2:12 NLT Bible

This verse clearly tells us what's expected of us when we come to God. We need to turn away from godless living and sinful pleasures and focus on living for God. There's so much in this world that can detract and lure believers back to old lifestyles that are contrary to the Word of God and sadly, as we look around, many seem to be engaged in worldly pleasures, operating with a mentality that they're simply enjoying life and not realizing that they're actually wasting the time that God has given them on things that are meaningless and detrimental.

Loving God means obeying him, spending time in His Presence, serving Him and telling others about His saving grace. Our desire should be to always bring honour and glory to God through our actions and obsessing and engaging in the things of the world destroys our credibility as witnesses and stunts our spiritual growth. We cannot live in both worlds. We must take a stand for Almighty God and change must be evident in all we do. Our relationship with God and our eternity depends on it.

Thank you, Lord, for saving me and for Your marvellous grace. Help me to live each day for you, to turn away from anything that is displeasing to you and may I always honour you in my thoughts, words and actions. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
