Fathers do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Ephesians 6:4  NLT Bible

Fathers everywhere are being celebrated and honoured today. We also remember fathers who are no longer with us, but thankfully we treasure the memories of times spent with them. Psalm 127:3 reminds us that children are a gift from God, and how blessed and privileged it is to have them in our lives. God has singled fathers out to be the ones to train their children to love, honour and obey Him. This is both an awesome privilege and a responsibility that fathers need to take seriously.

Fathers need to discipline and instruct their children, establishing clear guidelines and boundaries, correcting, when necessary, but doing it with love and compassion. Dads need to be godly examples and role models for their children, letting their lives reflect Christ, always being mindful that they are being watched and that children will emulate them. Fathers need to respect their children and above all, love and cherish them.

Thank you, Lord, for fathers everywhere! Fill them with Your strength and wisdom and help them to live godly lives and be exemplary role models for their children. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Lydia
