Now when the people complained,
it displeased The Lord; for The Lord heard it and His anger was aroused.
Numbers
11:1 NKJ Bible
We all know people who spend a
lot of time complaining. In fact, we may be guilty of the same thing. Some
complaints may be trivial and petty, some may be warranted, but one thing is
certain, God is not pleased with complaining. There is actually a litany of
things that we complain and moan about.......the weather, food, clothes, jobs,
our church, friends, salesclerks, family members and the list goes on and on.
In fact, if we are not careful, we can become chronic complainers and then
discontentment and unhappiness creep in.
The cure for this is to develop
a positive attitude and a spirit of contentment and gratefulness, focusing on
all the good and positive things in our lives. When we are tempted to complain,
we need to focus instead on praising and thanking God for His many blessings
and also the people in our lives and suddenly the things that seemed to annoy
us fade away. As believers, we must be mindful of the fact that complaining
affects our credibility as witnesses of Almighty God and ultimately robs us of
inner peace, joy and happiness.
Thank
you, Lord, for all You have done for me.
Help me to have a new attitude and a thankful heart, to appreciate all that
You've blessed me with and to refrain from complaining. Lord, I worship and
praise you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be
Blessed!
