“Yes, I am the Vine, you are
the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.
For apart from me, you can do nothing."
John
15:5 NLT Bible
We live in an age where
everyone is connected and it's just the reality of the times we're living in.
We are always connected to one electronic device or another. In fact, many feel
lost and incomplete if internet connection is unavailable or if something is
wrong with their mobile phones. While there is nothing wrong with this,
sometimes it affects our relationship with God, the One we should be attached
to at all times. God is the Vine and as His children, we are the branches and
if we want to have a lasting and fruitful relationship with Him, we must remain
in Him. Branches literally feed off the vine, getting all the necessary
nutrients to grow and thrive and we need to stay connected to God to grow
spiritually.
We need to spend quality time
in His Presence and in His Word and this should take precedence in our lives.
We may have to turn off our phones, computers and televisions if it's deterring
us from staying totally connected to our Heavenly Father. Without that
continual intimacy and fellowship with Him, we can do nothing, and our
spiritual life begins to decay as we drift away from God. Our connection to God
determines the depth of our relationship with Him.
Thank
you, Lord, that You are the Vine. My
desire is to be connected to you at all times, to let nothing deter me from
being in Your Presence. Help me to put away anything that would prevent me from
staying connected to you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be
Blessed!
Lydia
