But as for me and my family, we will serve The Lord.

Joshua 24:15 NLT Bible

This verse should be the hope and declaration of every believer. Many of us have family members who are not serving God right now, but our words are powerful, and we need to declare and affirm this promise daily. As we do this, things happen as God honours our faithfulness and begins to work on our behalf. We must do our part by living exemplary lives and being true, honest and faithful servants. Our children need to see us being kind, caring and compassionate and showing respect and honour to God. They should be so touched by our service and devotion to God that they would want to serve Him too. 

They may not be reading the Bible, but they are watching us and paying close attention to how we live. We should not get discouraged by what we are seeing in the 'natural' and give up on prayer for our family. We just need to keep on persevering in prayer and claiming the promise that our family will serve God. We don't know when or how it will happen, but we can entrust them to a loving and caring God and know that our prayers will not go unanswered. 

Thank You God for my family! My desire is to serve you all the days of my life and to see my family do the same. Help me to be a godly example. I affirm today, “that as for me and my house”, we will serve The Lord. I love You Jesus. Amen!
