For the love of money is the
root of all evil.
1
Timothy 6:10 NLT Bible
Money is essential for all of
us. We need it to take care of our food, shelter, clothes and all the
incidental things that are part of living well. The danger, however, is when we
begin to love money so much that it consumes our thought life, and we go to
great lengths to get more and more. When people begin to crave money, it never stops,
and they become dissatisfied with what they've been blessed with. These people
believe that money will bring them happiness, but sadly, they are mistaken and
in their quest for more, wind up emotionally and physically sick. In addition
to that, their spiritual life suffers, because all their time is spent focusing
on becoming richer and God takes a back seat in their lives.
God wants us to have nice
things, to live comfortable lives and be able to take care of our families, but
if He has blessed us financially, then we are to bless others in return. We
cannot hoard what God has given to us. At any given time, there are so many
families all around us, in need of food, clothing and shelter. Instead of
thinking about how we can get more money for ourselves, we need to use what we
have, as well as the extra we’ve been blessed with to meet the needs of those
who are destitute. There's no greater joy than using what we've been given to
bless others.
Thank
you, Lord for Your many blessings! I pray that I will never crave
money so much that I will go to extreme lengths to get more and more. Lord, let
me use what You've given me to bless the people around me. I love you, Jesus.
Amen!
Be
Blessed!
Lydia
