Never be lazy but
work hard and serve The Lord enthusiastically.
Romans
12:11 NLT Bible
Most of us know people who are
just lazy. In fact, it seems to be an accepted lifestyle for them, being
content to do little, but expecting much and living with a feeling of
entitlement, always taking from others and having a number of reasons as to why
they are unable to work hard. As believers, we must never be lazy, but must
work for the things we want and also serve God with enthusiasm, doing all we
can to advance His Kingdom. There are consequences to laziness and oftentimes,
lazy people are viewed as unreliable, needy, undisciplined and they meander
through life frustrated and unfulfilled, with no sense of purpose or
accomplishment.
As parents, we must let our
children know that hard work is the main vehicle to success and our lives need
to exemplify this. We must also recognize that people are watching us and we
can easily lose our credibility as witnesses for Christ when we are lazy. Every
task, big or small, must be done properly and joyfully. Our time is a gift from
God and we cannot be idle and lazy. Every minute must count, doing every task
with excellence and enthusiasm, serving God as best as we can. When we do this,
our Heavenly Father is pleased.
Thank
you, Lord, for giving me the ability and
strength to work. Help me to never be lazy, but to work hard and do every task
in the best possible way. May I use every opportunity to serve you and be a
blessing to others. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be
Blessed!
Lydia
