Therefore, we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be
tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced
when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.
Ephesians 4:14 NLT Bible
Children can be easily influenced and led astray. This verse cautions
us to be mature and grounded in our beliefs in Christ Jesus. We live in an age
when false doctrines are being spread in subtle and enticing ways and it's
somewhat easy to be taken in by it all. Everywhere we turn, we can see or hear
some new teaching that promises peace and love to all, but in actuality, has an
underlying message that is contrary to the Word of God. We must be aware that
false teachings are always 'sugar coated' to appear appealing and attractive,
but its sole purpose is to cause children of God to turn away from their faith
and core beliefs.
We can guard ourselves from being influenced by these clever and subtle
lies by constantly meditating on God's Word, allowing His truths to permeate
our hearts and minds and by being wise and careful about the things we watch or
listen to. We also need to ask God for a discerning spirit, so that we will be
able to recognize false doctrines. It is vital for us to keep our eyes on God,
to spend time in fellowship and communion with Him, so that we will not fall
victim to the ploys of the enemy but will remain rooted and firm in our belief
in Almighty God.
Thank you, Lord for Your Word. May I be faithful in studying The Word
diligently and keeping Your truths in my heart and mind so that I will never be
taken in by false doctrines. Help me to always stand up for my faith. I love
you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Bless
Lydia
