I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have
remained faithful.
2 Timothy 4:7 NLT Bible
So many times, people give up before completing something. It could be
a project at work, a chore at home, an assignment or a competitive event. As
children of God, we are called to finish the race that He has set before us,
just as Paul did. He endured all kinds of hardships and suffering, but he kept
the faith, persevered to the very end and fought a good fight. This should be
the prayer of our hearts, to be faithful to Almighty God until our life on
earth is ended. Life as a believer is a struggle, because we are constantly
bombarded with problems and temptations, but we have to determine in our hearts
to run the race that is set before us with perseverance and purpose, regardless
of our circumstances.
There's no greater honour than being able to feel like Paul did at the
end of his life. He was confident that he had served God faithfully, shared the
gospel with others and finished his race. God has given us this one life to
live on earth and we must run this race with discipline, purpose and endurance,
standing up for truth, integrity and righteousness. Our reward for being
faithful and completing our race is spending eternity with our Saviour. This is
the greatest reward for the child of God.
Thank you, Lord for Your promise of eternal life. Help me to fight the
good fight, to never give up, to finish the race set before me and to remain
faithful, come what may. Let my life be pleasing to you, Lord. I love you!
Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
