So, Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law.

Galatians 5:1 NLT Bible

All too often, we see people enter into a relationship with Jesus, promising to serve and obey Him and then somehow, they go back and embrace the old customs, traditions and lifestyles that once enslaved them. We need to remember that freedom from sin and the past is the gift God gives us when we invite Him into our lives. Because of Him, we have been transformed and freed from  the things that held us captive such as bad habits, addictions, negative emotions and meaningless and ritualistic traditions. 

We now belong to the family of Jesus Christ, the One who died to set us free. He has forgiven us; the chains have been broken and the slate has been wiped clean. We have to live in freedom, sever the ties with our past transgressions and purpose to live holy, pure and righteous lives. We don't have to do it alone. God is with us and has promised us His grace, strength and guidance to walk in victory and freedom. We may struggle at times, but daily fellowship and communion with God is the key to living in freedom. 

Thank you, Lord, for setting me free. Help me to stay free, to never go back to the things that once enslaved and held me captive. My life is changed and transformed because of You and I want to live in the freedom that You have given me. I love you Jesus. Amen!
