Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbours.

1 Peter 2:12 NLT Bible

We live in a world that's diverse. We are all different, coming from different places, have varied backgrounds, speak different languages and share different beliefs. However, as children of God, we are called to live peacefully and amicably among our neighbours and friends who may not share the same faith as us, letting our lights shine brightly for God, by our words and actions. We need to be good examples, treating everyone, regardless of their differences, with love, respect, compassion, kindness and mercy.

Our actions must reflect humility, goodness, honesty and integrity. Those around us must be able to see the light of Jesus radiating from us. We cannot say that we are children of God and be rude, unkind and disrespectful to those around us. In the same way, we cannot proclaim our faith in Jesus and then act in a superior and proud manner, behaving as if we're better than our neighbours. We must ensure that our lives are truly reflective of our belief and faith in God because what we say and do is the gauge many will use to determine if we are genuine and sincere. As believers, living for Jesus in everything we do, is the best witness we can possibly have to draw others to Him.

Thank you, Lord, for loving me. Help me to love others in return. Lord may my life be a witness of Your love, grace and mercy. Help me to always treat those around me with love and respect. Let my light shine for you, Lord. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
