A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

Our words and actions reflect the condition of our heart. If it is pure and good, our actions will ultimately be Christlike. Behaviour that is good and kind will come naturally to us. Our speech will be filled with gentleness and kindness and will flow over in the way we behave and treat others. By the same token, impure hearts that are filled with evil, bitterness and hatred will impact every word and action and those around us will always bear the brunt of harsh words and actions that are impure and ungodly.

We need to remember that everything in our heart will always surface in what we do and speak. People will certainly annoy us at times and our reaction to them is indicative of the state of our heart. God already knows what's on the inside and we need to come before Him daily, asking Him to purify and cleanse our hearts and remove any hatred, bitterness, envy, lust and all other ungodly qualities that may be present. Spending quality time in prayer and the Word of God will help us to keep our hearts good and pure.

Thank you, Lord, for loving me just as I am. Purify and cleanse my heart Lord and remove anything that is ungodly and evil. I want to please you in all I say and do and be Christlike in my thoughts, word and actions. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
