Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honour Him in your youth before you grow old and say, "Life is not pleasant anymore."

Ecclesiastes 12:1 NLT Bible

When questioned about their faith, there are so many young people who will admit that while they love and respect God, there's lots of time to serve Him later on in life, but right now, they just want to enjoy life. What they are missing however, is the fact that loving and serving God results in a life of happiness and joy and is the most rewarding thing anyone can do.

Young people need to realize that now is the time to serve God, while they are strong and healthy with no physical limitations. God wants them to have lives of purpose, to fear Him, to pursue wisdom and to live in obedience before Him. Oftentimes the rash and impetuous actions of youth have resulted in devastating consequences that could have been avoided if they were living for God. How wonderful it would be if they could work diligently for God, instead of being caught up in pleasure and trivial pursuits. Serving God is a privilege and doing it when young, sets the tone for a future that leads to a life of fulfilment and purpose. 

Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with vigour and energy! Help me to work diligently for you, to serve, honour and obey you while I am young and to continue doing so for the rest of my life. Lord, help me to live in purity and holiness before You. I love you Jesus. Amen!
