Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
Psalm 1:1 NLT Bible

This verse assures us that as children of Almighty God, we are blessed, but it's dependent upon the things we do. We are to refrain from following the advice of immoral people and from participating in things that are ungodly and contrary to the Word of God. This does not mean segregating ourselves totally or living in isolation, but rather staying true and firm to our core beliefs and being an example for holiness and righteousness to those around us.

Sometimes it seems that everyone wants to give us advice and tell us how to live, but when we take advice from the wrong people, we usually head down a dangerous and destructive path. All that we need for godly and righteous living is found in His Word and we need to be always meditating on it. When we do, we find the guidance and strength needed to remain faithful and true to the principles of our Heavenly Father and in turn, we are blessed beyond measure.

Thank you Lord for Your blessings. Help me to walk circumspectly, to choose my friends wisely and to never take advice from people who can lead me astray. May I mediate on Your Word and always be obedient. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
