Even if my father and
mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.
Psalm
27:10
NLT Bible
This verse speaks to being
rejected by parents, but we can also include loved ones, friends and
acquaintances. As difficult as rejection may be to process and ultimately
accept, we can find comfort in knowing that God will never abandon us. He is
with us through 'thick and thin'. God will never forsake us and will always
hold us close.
When people are rejected, they feel invisible and think they don't
matter to anyone. They are all around us, in our homes, neighbourhoods and
churches. In fact, we may even experience rejection ourselves. We have a
choice. We can indulge in self-pity and bouts of sadness or we can rejoice in
the fact that we have a Friend in Jesus and He will always be with us.
Thank you Lord for Your abiding Presence. I've been
rejected by those who promised to always care for me, but I refuse to dwell on
it. Instead, I thank you for Your promise to never leave me. I love you, Jesus.
Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
