He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in His arms, holding them close to His heart.

Isaiah 40:11 NLT Bible

Sheep are generally helpless, prone to wandering off, needing a shepherd to lead and guide them, to take care of them, protect and feed them. This verse speaks of God as our Shepherd, seeking us out when we are lost and taking care of us…....His sheep. This analogy to us as sheep is a fitting one, because we too, need someone to care for us and guide us back on the right path when we stray and that person is Jesus, our Heavenly Father. God wants to hold us close to Him, to take care of our needs, to comfort, guide, protect and watch over us.

In the arms of our Shepherd, we are safe, secure and loved. When we falter or fail, He is always there to wrap His arms around us and to pick us up. When we are lonely, sad, depressed, discouraged or grieved, He holds us close to His heart and assures us that He is always with us and brighter days are ahead. God loves us and wants to take care of us, but we have to invite Him into our hearts, to acknowledge Him as our Saviour and Shepherd and look to Him alone to sustain and care for us. What a blessing and privilege to know that we can be totally reliant on our Shepherd, Jesus Christ.

Thank you Lord that You are our Shepherd! Lord, I know that You are always with me, feeding my soul, caring, guiding, protecting and comforting me. May I always listen to Your voice and run to you in times of testing and trials. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
