The disciples went and
woke Him up, shouting, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" When
Jesus woke up, He rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm
stopped and all was calm.
Luke 8:24 NLT Bible
Life is unpredictable, but
without a doubt, we will most certainly encounter storms in our lives. They can
hit us when we least expect it, can be fast and furious, wreaking chaos and
destruction or they can slowly advance on us, filling us with despair and
dread. Regardless of how they attack us, we have to hold on to our faith and
keep trusting in God to deliver us. We can be facing storms of sickness, job
loss, broken relationships, deep depression or loss of loved ones, but whatever
they may be, God is able to rebuke that situation and bring peace, calmness and
restoration to our lives.
The
storms in our lives are specific to us and there is no need to feel dejected
and hopeless. God cares and understands, but He wants us to have faith and
trust in His ability to deliver us. Many times, in the midst of the storm, we
panic, become scared, and feel like giving up. However, God is in control and
just one word from Him can quell our fears and bring change to the stormy
situations we are facing. These stormy experiences might be debilitating, but they
ultimately serve to refine and strengthen us and to help us grow in our
relationship with God. As believers, we must keep believing and trusting in the
faithfulness of Almighty God.
Thank
you Lord for being my anchor in the midst of the storm. Help me to keep
trusting and believing in You and to never give up or despair. Lord, You are in
control and just one word from you can calm my troubled heart and fill me with
peace. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be
Blessed!
Lydia
