“Watch and
pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the
flesh is weak."
Matthew
26:41 NIV Bible
We all have
good intentions about all the things we need to do and while our spirits are
willing, sometimes our bodies are weak, worn and weary. There seems to be a
constant struggle between mind and body. God wants us to be vigilant in
watching and praying to avoid giving in to temptation. We need to be
spiritually alert to the dangers lurking all around us....those things that
could impede our spiritual growth and cause us harm. The key to victory in this
area is to be in constant prayer about every temptation we're facing.
Watching
involves paying attention to the ploys of the enemy.....false doctrines,
dangerous people and trends that could lead us astray. Praying involves
bringing all these concerns and needs to God and asking Him for discernment to
recognize the dangers around us and the wisdom and strength to not yield to
temptation. As we enter into a close and personal relationship with Jesus, our
hearts, minds and bodies will be renewed and strengthened and we can have
victory over temptation.
Thank you
Lord for Your strength. Help me Lord to be vigilant in watching and praying so
that I will be victorious over temptation. Give me discernment to recognize the
snares of the enemy. Renew my heart, my mind and my body. I love you Jesus.
Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
