SUNDAY INSPIRATION and PRAYER

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

Romans 8:6 NLT Bible

When we let our sinful nature control our mind, we ultimately act on those destructive thoughts and wind up doing things that are wrong and displeasing to God. However, when we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our mind, we have life and peace with God. Our thoughts are centred on things that are good, pure and lovely and we make every effort to please God in all that we say and do. Every action begins in our mind and we must give the Holy Spirit total access and control, if we are to live obedient and pleasing lives before Almighty God.

We have to guard our mind closely. The enemy is always on the prowl trying to destroy us and it is imperative that our mind be controlled by the Holy Spirit. If we give way to our sinful nature, our mind becomes filled with lustful thoughts and desires and it becomes easy to transgress and return to some of our bad habits and actions. We need to come to God in total surrender, yielding our hearts and minds to Him, relinquishing everything that would hinder us from living wholesome, uplifting and honourable lives for Him. 

Thank you Lord for Your Holy Spirit. I need the Holy Spirit to have full control of my mind. Help me Lord, to keep my thoughts focused on all that is good and pure and may I please You in everything that I say and do.  I surrender my life to You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
