SUNDAY INSPIRATION and PRAYER

Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything
that is said. Hold on to what is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:20-21
NLT Bible
God has entrusted many of His
followers with the gift of prophecy and this verse tells us that we are to
never mock any prophetic word that is given to us by a servant of God. However,
anything that is said to us must 'line up' with the Word of God. Usually when
given a prophetic word, it is oftentimes a confirmation of something that we
already feel deep within our spirits. Our duty is to spend time in prayer
asking God to reveal the truth and implication of that word and to also search
the Scriptures to validate its authenticity.
A prophetic word is intended to
edify, uplift, guide, encourage and sometimes turn us away from ungodly
behaviour or futile ventures. It is never meant to tear down or belittle. If
what is told to us is not in sync with the Word of God, we should simply
discard it. Prophecy is always spoken in love and grace and causes us to draw
closer to Almighty God. As we hold on to the prophecy spoken to us and continue
to obey and serve God, we will ultimately see it come to pass in our lives.
Thank you Lord for Your prophetic
word. Help me to test everything that is said to me to ensure that it lines up
with Your Word. If it does, let me heed and obey it. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
