My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!

Proverbs 1:10 NLT Bible

Many people have a need to belong, to be part of the popular crowd, and sometimes it becomes very easy to be lured back to the old way of living, doing things that are displeasing to God. Wrong and sinful things are made to look attractive and endearing and if we are not rooted in our faith, we can drift off course. Sin lurks in every corner, is dangerous and destructive and we must be vigilant and alert as there will always be someone trying to entice us to do wrong. When this happens, we must weigh our options…...eternity with Jesus versus momentary pleasure.

Ultimately, when we stand before God, we will be held accountable for our actions. We cannot allow anyone to entice or sway us to sin! We have to choose friends who will encourage us in our walk with God and we may have to sever ties with some people. We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, walk circumspectly and avoid the very appearance of sin. Holy and righteous living should be our focus and as children of God, we cannot give in to peer pressure to do wrong. We need to ask God for a discerning spirit so we can recognize the ploys of the enemy and not get caught in the web of sin. 

Thank you Lord for saving me. Help me to never be swayed by sin and wrongdoing. Lord, I want to keep my eyes fixed on you, to stay on the path of goodness and righteousness and to never go off course. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
