Every job regardless of what it is should be done with willingness, enthusiasm and excellence. If we are washing dishes, cleaning, exercising or working on a report at the office, the same principle should apply. As followers of God, the way we work and how we complete a task speaks volumes about our faith and credibility. Many of us may be guilty of taking shortcuts, complaining while we work, doing a sloppy job or even leaving it undone. This attitude is not pleasing to God and it actually tarnishes our witness.

We need to work willingly and diligently, being thankful that we have the ability and strength to do so. At our secular job, we may sometimes be in a hostile environment dealing with difficult employers and co-workers, but we must maintain our integrity and work with purpose and diligence, being true ambassadors of Jesus Christ. This means we must have a positive attitude, pay attention to detail and always do more than required. When we do this, we feel a sense of accomplishment, but most of all, we bring honour and glory to God.

Thank you Lord for the strength and ability to work. Help me to always have a good attitude, to work willingly and to the best of my ability. Lord, may I bring honour and glory to you in all that I do. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
