Don’t sin
by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.
Psalms 4:4
NLT Bible
Anger has the potential to destroy lives and relationships and
when we allow it to control us, we are on the path to self-destruction. There
will always be things that disturb and anger us, but instead of reacting
immediately, we need to walk away, remain silent and think about the situation
in a calm and rational manner. When we do, most times we realize that it wasn’t
really worth getting riled up about. This is a decision we must make, because
immediate responses usually escalate into an ‘out of control’ situation.
Anger can
cause us to say and do hurtful things that cannot be retrieved or repaired. In
addition, it hurts the people around us, grieves Almighty God and tarnishes our
testimony for Him. There are some people who seem to be always angry and oftentimes,
this stems from emotional damage from childhood. God is the only One who can
help and we need to surrender our emotions to Him and allow His love and peace
to permeate our lives. God cares deeply about us and in the days ahead, we
should purpose to walk away when things upset us, be silent in His presence and
allow Him to infuse us with wisdom to enable us to deal with difficult
situations calmly and peaceably. When we do this, God is pleased!
Thank you Lord for Your wisdom. I surrender all my emotions to You
and with Your help, I determine to walk away when things and people upset me
and to never respond in anger. Fill me with Your peace, love and wisdom. I love
you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
