Bible Verse for September 12th.

“Do to others as you would like them to do to you.”

Luke 6:31

NLT Bible

This verse serves as a reminder as to how we should live with others in every area of our lives. It’s straightforward and simple! We need to treat others in the same manner in which we want to be treated. If we want our spouse, children, colleagues and friends to respect us, then we in turn need to respect them. If we want mercy, kindness, compassion and understanding, then we must make every effort to do the same. If we expect people to be courteous and polite then it follows that we can’t be discourteous and impolite. It should be noted that with children back at school, parents need to stress the importance of following this ‘golden rule’ in the classrooms, on the playground, on the buses or while walking to and from school.

We should remember that people are watching us and how we treat others speaks volumes about our devotion and commitment to God. At times we may fail and treat someone badly, but we need to acknowledge our wrongdoings and make amends. Before reacting to anyone, we should envision ourselves in their ‘shoes’ and respond with the love, compassion and understanding we would want for ourselves. We need to remember the words of Jesus when He cautioned us to treat others as we would want to be treated. With His help and guidance, we can make this verse an integral part of our lives.

Thank you Lord for Your love and mercy. Help me to treat others with love, respect, understanding and compassion. If I should fail, help me to recognize my mistakes and make amends. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Lydia
