Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.
Psalms 37:7
NLT Bible
Being still can prove to be difficult at times. We're programmed to be 'on the go' and just the mere notion of sitting quietly to think, to reflect and be introspective can seem daunting. We're living in an age where thoughts are continually swirling around in our minds and as a result, we find ourselves in a constant state of frenzy as we try to navigate the difficult waters in which we find ourselves. Especially at this time, many people are worrying about their health, jobs, children, finances and the list goes on and on.
As this verse tells us, there's so much to be gained from being still in the presence of God. When we're silent, we can bask in His presence and allow the cares and unending distractions around us to fade. We can let God speak to us and have His peace permeate our hearts and minds and then wait patiently for Him to act. As we're still before Him, He ministers to us and we recognize that regardless of what's going on in our lives, He is in control! It is during this time of stillness before Him, we experience His Presence in a tangible way and get answers to the problems besetting us. We need to get in the habit of being still before God because it's here we are renewed and restored while we pave the way for Him to act.
Thank you Lord for Your abiding Presence. Help me to be still before You and listen to Your voice. My deepest desire is to know You and draw close to You. I surrender all to You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
